Computer storage: Sandisk & others??

Good evening: For computer experts: I have an older memory card that I can plug into front of my obsolete Windows 95 computer. That computer has not run in years. I would like to find a device that will read the card (SanDisk Compact Flash, 128 MB) so I can copy the files to a newer format and use them in my IMAC computer. My IMAC has a slot that accepts SDHC Flash Card, 32 GB and others. I think there are devices that are essentially adapters to connect various SD type cards to any of the newer computers. Any assistance appreciated!

You need an all in one card reader. It will accept just about any card( mine has 5 slots) and plugs into a USB port. Not very expensive on flea bay

Good evening, Phil Tibbetts: Thanks for the advice. We have a Dollar General store just down the road from us, they had an odd-sized memory card that I needed for my truck's GPS, so maybe they will have the adapter also.

If your iMac has a USB port, you should have no problem finding a CF-capable USB card reader. If not, I suppose you'll need a FireWire card reader.

Many modern card readers won't work with an old Compact Flash CF card. But a search for Compact Flash card reader on Amazon or eBay will find some that will. CF is an old style, fairly large card that is somewhat outdated but you might find a reader at Walmart or Best Buy, etc.

Yes, that particular card reader does not appear to support CF. But ones that do are readily available.

Those sandisk cards are what they are using on digital cameras now. The only way I can get pictures off my camera is to remove the disc and put it in a card reader.

f you have a Best Buy or similar store that has customer service in your area, maybe they could get you going. Dollar General probably wouldn't give that kind of support unless you got really lucky.

A lot of folks are misunderstanding what card he has. The compact flash card hasn t been a supported format for many years. There are still readers available, but it may be tough to find one in a store. They were never really popular, the smaller SD card came out at the same time and pretty much made the compact flash obsolete as soon as it came out.

Good evening, MJMJ and all: I found Best Buy had a card reader that will accept my outdated CF card as well as the current styles. I may have gotten the last one in the store. I am OK now! Thanks to all replies.
