Concrete curing question

I've just poured two 60 lb bags of sakrete to set two posts for a very small wood bench. There's another 5" or so of backfill to shovel in for each post. Is it ok to just shovel the dirt over the curing concrete or should I let it set up before filling the holes? Thanks for any thoughts.

Damp dirt over the top of curing concrete is good for it. It cures slower, making it stronger.
