Old condensers almost never go bad but new one are a 50/50 chance they are bad from the get go. I have not changed a condenser in over 20 years due to many being bad now days

Second blue streak. I had a condenser go bad, bought a new one on the internet, it lasted 2 hours. Bought a blue streak, it has worked for about 10 hours so far over a period of 6 weeks. Only use that tractor once or
twice a week for an hour or so.

not trying to give you a hard time but, the proper part number will be determined by what you are working on, a bit of info that seems to be missing here. And the distributor information may be needed as well, since JD sometimes used different distributors in the same model and engine.

Since you posted this on the John Deere Forum I am ASSUMING you are working with a John Deere machine.

If for a distributor, likely the condenser is still available through the dealership, and (in my experience, so far) the quality there is still good.

As to the aftermarket brands, the Standard Ignition, Blue streak, Sorenson, BWD, Echlin and Niehoff brands are all owned/supplied by "SMP" (Standard Motor Products).

(quoted from post at 12:08:08 08/22/21) Yes its for a 620. Havent had good luck with bwd or echlin
over the years

Delco distributor?

If so, Delco OEM condenser number is 1869704, there are a number of "NOS" units available on ebay at the moment.

Current DEERE part # is AT14468, under $10 at the dealership.

The 620 shows using a Delco or a Wico distributor. The condenser for the Delco should be a STANDARD # DR-60 from crossing the Delco number shown in the JD 620 parts catalog. The Wico condenser is shown with JD part # AR12000R. I have yet to find a cross for that one. Some vendors show using the same part number for both. It will likely work but may affect the life of the points and condenser. There is information that Wico ended up with one condenser for the DB distributors and the Wico part number for it is 2-5094 from what I have found.
Brillman has some Wico parts. So which distributor do you have? Does it still have the ID tag on it.

Good question Does anyone make a decent condenser anymore?

A friend ran an ignition repair shop and he found almost 50% of new out of the box to be bad or out of spec !!

That being said Ive had MUCH better luck with ones I purchased from Brillman or NAPA versus the cheaper units from Big Box Store like TSC or
Rural King ......
