Connecting Rod Bolt pt2

I have removed the (seized) engine from the tractor and put it on a stand. Underneath, I have taken off 2 and 3 connecting rod caps easily and the main bearing caps. The cam shaft also seems to be frozen. Ill include a picture if where the bolt is. Its not the best photo, but the one I have at the moment. It is the connecting rod caps for cylinders 1 and 4. It is the bolt by the wall.

Attach a "sling" to both ends of the crankshaft and lift it with a engine hoist/"cherry picker", as you lift it a little the rods will swing to the center so you can undo the caps.

You can use a "V-belt" you may have lying around as a "sling" by looping it over the ends of the crankshaft and lifting in the center.

What Wore out said is about your only option now. I would also as I raised the crank push the other rods down to the bottom or the top of the block to get the rods away from the crank throws. You will need to take that plate off the back end for the crank to move much.

why could u not do what i said to break the pistons free. be nice to see the top of cyl's.

I think I will be unable to remove the front side if the crank due to the crank and the cam shaft frozen. With both having keys, I cant spin either to get the pulleys off and the bolts behind them. I was hoping I would be able to raise the crank just enough to be able to slide one off.

I think I better warn you: if your camshaft is frozen, be sure to remove the valve springs and get the tappets to rise enough to clear the journals before trying to remove it. I broke a Cub block by not doing that.

Could you 'heat and beat' a wrench that would reach those bolts? I have a whole drawer full of 'custom' tools that were made to do some job I couldn't do with regular tools. Remember you don't have to get the bolt completely out, just back it out of the rod and take the cap and bolt out at one time.

Another thought: If you can get enough pressure off the crank, you might be able to 'roll' the upper main bearing inserts out and get some 'wiggle' room to separate the camshaft and the crank.
