Continental diesel help

I’m looking for some help locating rod bearings for a continental gd193 that was installed in the 350 diesel tractor. The bearings I’m looking for are for .030 undersized journals. The federal mogul part number is 2920 cp-30. I have .020 but need to clean up the journals. Any help or leads are appreciated. Beginning to think the are only available at the end of a rainbow.

I rebuilt that same engine a few years ago, and I chased a few parts, later to find out that a company by the name of Mutual Truck from Chicago purchased all of the rights to Continental. I couldn't tell you if they are still in business, but they answered the phone when I needed them.

I don't know if there is enough iron in the rods but can a guy have the rods bored out bigger to put a thicker lined bearing in so they would possibly be easier to find for a different engine. I've never done it just was a thought for those since parts are getting unobtainable now.

My thinking is to find a insert that might be a few thousandths larger on the rod and cut down the end of the insert. for .002 crush. If too wide, narrowing them is easy. Align or make the oil hole (if it has one) Jim
