Converting a pull drag to a 3 point

I'm thinking about converting a two-section pull type drag to a 3 point. Has anyone else done this? Do you have any pictures? What I'm most interested in is how to keep the two sections rigid. Also what type of support is needed from the front to the back to be able to lift the drag.

Thanks.

Section harrow? We converted a couple in the late '50s and they're rusting down over here in the weeds. Best I remember, just made a toolbar out of 4 inch pipe; front of each section is pinned to pipe; home-made 3-point hitch welded to pipe; frame extended from hitch back over sections, which were chained to the frame. No pictures............weeds/honeysuckle are head high.

Not at all like this from google images, but the concept is the same; would work for any type 'drag'. The pipe on mine is where the angle iron is in the pic.........

Thurlow has the right idea. I built one from an old three point bale mover. I used 4" square tubing and built a frame (basicly around the section harrow). I attached the harrow sections to a pipe just like in Thurlow's picture and then attached the pipe to the frame. I used chains to attach the sections to the back of the frame so that it can be picked up. Just lay out some tubing and get started.....it's easy to do. Mine is 16' wide.........use it all the time.

Some will hang them from a 3pt jib pole - the $150 crane pole you can buy at any farm supply store.

'Rigid' and 'harrow' should not really be used in the same sentence. You don't ever, ever want a harrow 'rigid'. With the 3pt you just want to be able to pick it up. But you want the harrow to flop all around while in use in the field. The point of the harrow is to not be rigid while in use.

I added four five bar harrow sections to a 20 foot Danish tooth field cultivator to use as an incorporating/finish tool. Extended 2x2xquarter inch angles from the inc to almost the rear of the sections (2 angles per section). Chain supports the rear of the section, another chain pulls the section from the last bar on the inc. Pic could be available.
