$3.89 one place $3.69 in another yesterday, after it jumped from $3.59 to $3.79 two days before.. Go figure, prices are like the stock market up, down and back up.

Most of the time while going to and from Florida prices were $3.39 to $3.49.

Go figure, prices are like the stock market up, down and back up. Hard to put finger on just how much oil we import from PUTTIAN. Some articles say that oil goes to Hawaii and Alaska. For the most part US exports and imports oil from Canada and Mexico..

My Gas pumps are not like SV's. Only have 3 choices for gas.
Not 100%, EPA dictates different blends for different parts of the country.

SV might want to upgrade from gas to diesel.

SV,

I have no issues using E10 in Farmall, Jubilee, 2 terramites and many riding lawn mowers.
Before E10 in the winter we had to add HEET gas treatment to prevent gas line freeze up. HEET is like ethanol, bonds water to gasoline.
Your choice, your money.

Here is an update. The 3.99 was yesterday. I have training for work today and just drive about 40 or 50 miles. Cheapest I saw was 4.09 at one place. Every other was 4.19. Awesome !

Went from 3.08 to 3.59 pretty quick !
Went to get some Monday , but but couldnt get gas door open cause of ice .
Came back on Tuesday or Wednesday and Thunder ! What happen ! Got it from Mother Nature ! Cant blame politicians for that ice ,crikey!

Your choice. Run e10 in everything gas here- two cylinders, minnie, gator, trucks (including some with carbs), chain saw, string trimmer, lawn mower. No issues.

The local convenience store had regular for $3.99 (cash) $4.09 (credit) didn't notice diesel.

All fuel jumped up a bunch yesterday. There would be a fix for that but I guess we all get feisty talking about that and wouldnt be allowed.

For most modern engines the 88 octane, which is 15% ethanol, is often the cheapest and the best mix available, works well the engine computer can be most efficient per btu available with that mix.

I know there is some different views on that and thats fine.

An older vehicle with a carb that sits a lot between uses can be a little different. We use E10 here just fine but but some dont and that works best for them.

Since I went to non corn syrup no more carb rebuilds every spring easier starting and no more popping and farting from the engines anyway

SV if all of your carbureted engines are in these old trucks I would not use these evil squeezins in them myself. Its mainly the accelerator pump diaphragms that give the trouble.

I sell corn for the squeezins and burn squeezins in everything that burns gas around here and both ends of that deal have treated me good for many years. An old farmer once told me that a farmer never makes as much money when fuel prices are low. He said fuel prices are the best indicator of the health of the economy. Just throwin that out there for something to think about. Outside influences at work now so that throws everything off normal.

I agree. Sell the corn, feed distillers, burn the gas. Been good for me and a lot of farm country. You can depend on other nations, or yourself. Choice is yours.

I use ethanol and never had any problems. Have a 72 Chevy pickup with a 350. Gets driven very little in the winter and still no trouble. Use it in everything from a chainsaw to my lawnmower and a couple of two bangers I have.

The E is ok, just as long as you don't let it set around and age too long. If you do, it is a H... of a mess! Carbs, tanks, pumps, lines....yuk!

Guy has to do what he is comfortable with. About 30 % of corn planted U S is sent to distillers to be made into corn squeezins fuel. It boosts the market price of corn to farmers. Lowers the fuel price of gas to consumers. We had 12 or so e-fuel plants here .but I think only 9 or so are operating now. Non-ethanol fuel hard to find here. Use it in the lawn rider w/ Mechanic in a Bottle.

Another issue is if you never used ethanol in your tractor, there likely is a whole lot of gum and varnish built up all over.

Ethanol is a good solvent and dissolves all that crud, so you see a big wad of junk the first month you use the stuff. Its actually cleaning out your fuel system, but lot of
folk think oh its the ethanol making crud.

Something to keep in mind, if one is new to ethanol. Its been in all gas in this state for so many decades Im always surprised to see there are places that dont have it!

I do put an additive in the gas for the tactors that sit around a lot. In northeastern Pa. Gas is $3.999 per gallon.

I think I've only bought 3 carburetor kits in the last 50 years and they were all to get something running that was not running when I got it. I had to clean the fuel shut off valve on the carb on my welder last month and that is the first time I've worked on a carb in years other than minor adjustment or a piece of rust in the float valve. I'm always surprised when others say they have problems. That's my story and I'm sticking to it. :-)

I dont mind supporting the corn farmers as they buy part of my calves every year and some of them go to Iowa feedyards. Its all USA ag.

Why then Is there only crap in it when you use ethanol fuel ? I dont buy after 5 years corn syrup Is still cleaning

When you or us ag wants to start sending me a check every
year for carb cleaning and rebuilds Ill think about using it

If you are still having trouble after 5 years of not using E gas, I think you've answered your own question. The problem isn't the E gas, its likely in some dirty tank or fuel system you need to clean out. You probably need to stop blaming it for your fuel issues if you aren't using it.

Well, my old Ford truck with a 351 just started giving a nice pop thru the carb yesterday on acceleration. Sure sign thee ole accelerator pump diagram is toast again. Just rebuilt it a couple years ago and a couple before that. Yes I use ethanol fuel and it would make since that it is the culprit. The big ole carb accelerator pumps dont like the ethanol much. Yes, I use a quality rebuild kit from the manufacturer (Edelbrock)

Gas is pretty much 4.19 a gallon now everywhere around me here in Central NY today. On road diesel is 4.89. Diesel jumped 66 cents in one day.

In May 2020 I bought fuel oil (off road diesel) for 1.67 a gallon. I filled every tank and piece of equipment I could. Yesterday I was quoted 4.30 for the same thing.

I think ethanol is here to stay. We have sold a lot of corn to the ethanol plant. It has been good for farming. But I dont care for it in stuff that sits and gets occasional use. I fight it with stabilizer and ethanol free gas in the older stuff. Fuel isnt the only thing that went up. Bottle of stabilizer is almost $15. Guessing diesel fuel treatments also increased. I only have two machines that use diesel. Not going to complain too much about the prices though , given the grain prices now.
