Cornhead Grease for Knotter

Someone told me to use cornhead grease on my 570 NH knotters. Said it was the best for all the chaff build up. Anybody ever tried it? Thanks.

I have a 336 JD baler and all I use is regular shell grease and it does not seem to build up with chaff.. I did take the top cover that is suppose to keep the chaff from building up but usually makes the chaff build up worse off when I bought the baler brand new in 1980. Corn head grease I would think would be to thin and run when it gets warm.

Single point lube systems use 00 type grease. Otherwise, use regular gun grease. There won't be much difference in dust collection.

JD single point grease systems do not use oo grease. It is special "rheopectic" and actually changes viscosity when it is pumped with pressure.
It pours into the distribution can but changes to a grease when pumped.

I really don"t think that corn head grease is going to improve chaff build up much if any. The biggest thing is to not over grease it and do it frequently. Hesston big square balers use 80-140 that is pumped to all the zerks every 250 bales. That system really works. It"s fast and doesn"t collect much dirt.
