Correct Magneto for 39A

On my 39A, I have a Fairbanks Morse magneto. My parts catalog says the 39A should have a Wico type "c". Did John Deere ever install magnetos at the factory that were not Wico, or is my magneto a replacement? Thanks for the help.

39 model year started with SN 477000. 477000-478499 used Edison-Splitdorf CD010. 478500-487247 used Wico AP477. 487248-487999 tags were scrapped. 488000 was beginning of 40 model year. Wico X types were late styled and replacements. Many parts books only show superceded parts, not original. Hope that helps.

I had two Deere Model Ls with factory equipped Edison Splitdorfs. Deere replaced them with Wicos when parts became unavailable.
