Coulter set collar

I am restoring an L18 two way plow for my
LA. The coulter set collar for the left
plow is broke. Any chance someone has one
for sale? The part number is BZ19 and
that same number is also in the casting.
Not sure if this set collar was used on
anything else?

The left coulter is also missing, which is
part number BZ21 and that number is
specifically for a left side coulter. Not
sure what the difference is between left
and right, I would have assumed they would
be the same. The brackets and shank are
def mirror images of each other however.

I know this is a longshot.

Might be a collar off the rear scratchers off a cultivator that might fit. Could make one from a locking collar for a bearing.

It isn't just a set collar. It's a positioning collar. Notice the tang on the backside. Also notice the tang is tapered on one side. My guess is so it can kick up when it hits a rock. The collar for the other side will have the taper on the opposite side of the tang. That's why two different numbers.

I would suggest making it. If you just have to have cast iron you could use an old window sash weight, a grinder and a dremel to shape it. A hump of jb weld and the tiny engraving tips for the numbers. Hit it with a needle scaler after your done to restore the cast look.

You could also make it from steel but it would require welding a tang and thread boss and a lot more time making it look like cast.

Either way it would take a lot of time and patience. I think fabricating stuff like that is fun. When you lay it beside an original part and can't tell the difference you know you accomplished something.
