Country line

I see tractor supply carries quite a few parts for the ford n tractors, are CountryLine products pretty good?

I used their carb rebuild kit, it was in stock and I needed to get my 9N running quick so I bought the complete kit. It was made in USA and worked perfect ever since.

I bought a new sediment bowl/fuel shut-off assembly at TS 2 weekends ago for my 8N. This not being my first purchase from them I decided to test the unit prior to install. i opened the shut-off valve 2 turns and blew compressed air into the sediment bowl's outlet port (where the line out to carb connects) but I could tell immediately the air just dead headed and exited no where, especially not through the nipple that crews into the tank!

So, I took the thing apart and found it packed full of this thick semi-transparent grease. It wasn't easy to get rid of and ultimately I had to put in an ultra-sonic cleaner to get all of it out.

The shut-off assy works great now. Such is the way of cheap Chinese aftermarket parts. Sometimes they need us to finish the manufacturing process for them.

Looks like CountyLine to me!

Nope.

Over priced on most everything and most everything is off-shore junk.

If you can't wait for it from this site or other reliable vendors, NAPA is a much better local parts store.

Im sure it varies from location, but Napa is a waste of time here. Id rather buy a part that I know will fit vs being given the wrong one, or even more likely told that they cant get it. I was even told they couldnt get me a temp sending unit for a Ford tractor. Took me less than 30 seconds to order one online.

County Line is the current brand name that TSC sells under for most all of their tractor parts, not just FORD. Like anything, read the labels. Look for country of origin. Last time I looked only one part was USA made and the was the sediment bulb cork gaskets. I suggest you buy parts from a more reliable, quality supplier like nnalert or DENNIS-CARPENTER. I don't frequent TSC; will avoid them like the Cheena virus. There is nothing about them to do with "tractors" other than a few of these items and the word 'tractor' in the name. They are just a large, overpriced, pet food, clothing, and hardware shop.

NAPA stocks some quality USA MADE distributor parts and more. All the parts for the front mount distributor are Made In The USA. Do not get the ECHLIN CS-35 points -they are no longer made in the USA and thus are junk because they can't be timed. Demand the Standard Ignition/Blue Streak points, p/n FD-6769X. Ebay sells them as well but their prices vary, as does all ebay bad sellers, so don't pay more than $16 for a set.

My conclusions based on facts, not opinions, you asked, and so your mileage may vary...

Are you saying that YT only sells parts made in America?

A good 5 years ago we bought a carb for a 8n and it was cracked, brought it and got a different one, cracked. Some there parts are good and last while others don't. Like others said "Your mileage may vary, as they say..".

Dennis Carpenter DOES NOT SELL MADE N THE USA PARTS! I can tell
you a horror story about buying gauges from Denis Carpenter that
turned out to be made in China.

Who is Denis Carpenter?

I'll buy small stuff that they have in stock. A cork gasket and screen for the sediment bowl for example. Not much to go wrong with them.

I'd stay away from ignition parts. I needed a coil a while back and they were the only ones nearby that had one in stock. I pulled it out of the box before buying............the whole top cover was loose that is supposed to have a permanent seal. I went to NAPA for Echlin
