cracked block

i have a crack (or hole)in the block of my 8n right behind the starter. there is a raised round area on the block at that location. is this a "freeze plug" or is the block solid? how thick is the block in this area? i plan on fixing with jb weld per dell's instructions in an earlier post. no oil in the coolant and no coolant in the oil. problem started after flushing radiator....i've had the tractor for 4 years.

Take the starter off and replace the Welch plug.

Ford or CNH part # is 353454S or just pick up a 1-3/16" plug at a REAL auto parts store.
