I have a Craftsman digital multimeter Mod # 82141 that has two fuses.

Outside of
Fuse cover lists: #1...F200mA/250v
#2...F10A/250v

inside cover list; #1..500mA/600v
#2..10A/600v

I need to replace both fuses but am unsure what with or where to get them.
Thanks for any assistance,
Tom/Idaho

Hello Tom/Idaho,

The 10 amp should match the voltage you are going to use. I would err in the side of safety and use a 200 ma fuse. easy enough to put the bigger one later if it blows,

Guido.

Now I am going to throw water on everything. Usually when you blow the fuses in those meters it is time to buy a new meter. My experience was, popped the fuses In resistance mode plugged into 120 volt socket. Meter never worked again. Just go buy a new one and cry as you throw the other in the trash.

I agree, throw it ! From a life long electronic tech, the fuse(s) do not fail quick enough to protect the delicate semi-conductors on the circuit board..

After reading other comments, I would put some aluminum foil around the old fuses and see if it works anywhere normal, if it does, then look for fuses!

Agreeeeee! Nothing like a Simson 260 analog. KAZAP is awfully fast. He could pick up this one from harbor freight. I have used this at work for at least the past 12 years. Thing is they are changing their lines. He should get a newer model that measures frequency. Make sure your generator is running at the correct speed. My Fluke 179 looks like this when plugged into the wall. 60.2hz P.S. always store your meter set on 700 volts AC. Avoids a lot of mistakes.

I've found fuses for my Fluke at the local electrical supply house, but they weren't cheap. You might also check Amazon.

As for the discrepancy between the fuse ratings, I'd first check what the fuses themselves are marked. If they have no markings, then I'd look for a 200 milliamp fuse with a voltage rating of 250 volts or more, and a 10 amp fuse rated at 250 volts or more. The main thing is to get the right form factor for the fuses.
