Craftsman self propelled

I got a craftsman self propelled lawnmower out of a ditch . It has a briggs engine 6.5 horse . It had no spark I fixed that (runs good
The problem is self propelled engagement is too low on the handle and the cable isn t long enough to put control . Please don t ask what model it is . Some fool scratched the model number off . It hurts my back to engage the unit. I push lever forward to make it go . Anybody got any ideas?

Longer universal cable and move control
handle up to better location? Zip tie
moment?

Maybe you can convert the hoop handle that you squeeze to keep it running to engage the go control instead?

Or maybe you can make an extension to the existing level that extends up as high as desired. A push/pull rod.

Thanks guy I ended up using the kill handle 1/4 bolt drilled a hole in it . Put cables ends and tightened the nut . Good as gold - don t know why they made it for short Asians .

Check YouTube for craftsman self propelled mower
videos. It sounds like the drive cable bail is installed upside down. If for some reason you have to remove the air filter plate and mower has primer bulb, be careful not to damage the gasket between carb and plate. YT wil have videos for that too.
