Craftsman Tools

The problem is that if you find someone that will replace them, you’ll get a made in china version in return. I guess a Chinese made tool is better than a broken tool though. I remember back in the days of old, we had a bucket sitting in the corner of the shop and everytime we broke a tool (all craftsman) we would toss it in the bucket and about once a year we would drive to Birmingham and exchange them all at sears. A working farm is rough on tools!
Before Sears went out of business my USA made 1/2 ratchet went through a brush fire.
They wanted to give me a Chinese ratchet. I talked them into rebuilding mine.
I have a craftsman USA belt sander. It needed new bearings.
I went to town and bought new bearings. Nice to have tools made in the USA.

Back when Sears was still in business I broke my Craftsman half inch ratchet. They told me to just go back in their display and get a similar one. It was packaged nice on cardboard and zip ties. I told the clerk thanks and that I wasn't going to take it out of the package. I was going to save it until Sears went belly up and then sell it on E-Bay as a collectible.

Many years ago I took a big 3/4 inch drive socket in that we had split. The clerk asked me how big of a cheater bar had we used. I told him it was just me jumping on the break over. We were changing a dump truck rear wheel and I weighed 235 pounds. No cheater.
