CUB Battery.

Thanks to someone on here who said you could use a lawn tractor battery with your CUB!!!! I fitted the biggest one I could find "high amp" and it works just DANDY! The ground can be just a bolt with washers but the POSITIVE post should be done as so. I had to replace the cable because it had a broken clamp. You can just squeeze the new clamp on to the terminal and use a 1//4 bolt I think it is 1 1/2 inches. SWEET!!! Use a couple of wood spacers to hold everything in place. Another job well done.

Assuming you have converted your cub to 12 volts that will work, just won't have the cranking amps of a larger one, and most lawn tractor batteries do not last as long as the bigger ones though. If the cub does not have a 12 volt charging system, the battery will run down.

If you look at the picture you will see it is a yellow International cub. That means 12 volt.

Jeffcat , I put an L&G Battery in my '48 cub about 6 years ago , and love it too ! I put it on the flat area the hyd equipment usually goes on , and it fits perfect . Based on its performance , I used an L&G in my new Case VC and the Farmall "A" . I have a Farmall "C" coming up soon , and it will have one too. I needed new cables on several of them , so I went ahead and used copper lugs , I don't intend to go back !!

when in napa ask to see the battery cable book I just bought a cable to
power some ham equiptment and I asked for a diesel battery bolt and spacer ,the counterman said a WHAT ? then he got the book (a paper catalog) and I looked my parts up and he smartly said "IF WE HAVE THEM I WILL GIVE THEN TO YOU " guess what free bolt and spacer I also saw the L&G post adapters too and lots of others group 31 adapters too hes getting me a new catalog this week he learned somthing new

o far as I know all of the yellow and white cubs were 12 volts, however, a cub could be and frequently was ordered in yellow at anytime, especially by municipalities, parks, etc., so seeing a yellow battery box does not guarantee a 12 volt system.
