cub cadet motor mount

I'm trying to install a 12hp Kohler K301 engine in my 1282 Cub Cadet. I think I need an aftermarket mount for this non-Cub engine. Does anyone make one of these or do I have to make my own? Thanks..Joe

(A) Are you talking about the actual Motor Mount Frame... ??
or
(B) Are you talking about the rubber ISO mounts...??

There is a plate that goes between the motor and the frame. The plate has rubber mounting on it to the frame. Do you have the correct pan on the motor?

I need to amend the post above. There is also a pair of strap like standoffs that attach the engine to the mounting plate. Memory isn't working.

I guess I need to clarify; I am trying to replace the original Cub Cadet 12hp engine with a generic (flat bottom) engine. It appears that if I just put the engine onto the frame it will sit too low. The original (round pan) engine has standoffs which will not fit my engine. It looks like it needs a raised plate bolted to the frame so that the driveshaft will align. I thought that this has probably been tried before and maybe a commercial mount has been made. Sorry for the confusion....Joe

For what you are trying to do, I have NO knowledge of such adapter. Looks like
a "custom fabricated" mount.

Joe, sounds like you have a "wide base" or "earded" kohler that was normally used in Wheel Horse & such. You may be able to switch pans as some of these are drilled for either but not usually. they can be modified to use the Cub pan but you really have to know what you"re doing. You could always build something but keep in mind you need to get it lined up a close to perfect as possible or you will be facing alot of other problems down the road. I think you"d be better off selling that engine and getting the right one. As someone who"s "been there,done that" it"s not near as easy as it would seem.

I found a piece of plate steel today, so I may do some measurements and maybe weld the plate to the engine cradle. I know there are probably better ways to do this but I think I can make it work. It won't look stock but that's not my goal. It appears the stock engine sat level in the cradle, but that puts the driveshaft in kind of a kink. In fact the front flex joint is torn up, I assume because of this. Should I tilt the engine slightly, like a car engine is? It appears the driveshaft flex joints would be a lot happier. you need the following type of motor mounts, and a set of rubber bumpers for the quietlines. I do not own/run this auction, just for illustration purposes. I replaced my bumpers on my cub and used a Moog part instead of the cub part. Just watch the length of the bolts if you use the Moog parts.
