I have a Cub 127. When I got it, It wasn't wired completely and not running. I hooked it up enough to get it going. The Voltage Regulator was wired except for a ground, when I connected it, the V/R smoked and it shut off. It had 4 contacts. It runs good now just no charging system. I have another V/R with 3 contacts and it looks as if the case is to be grounded. Can I attach it to the frame w/ a ground wire under it? And do I need to polarize the system? Should I mount it on rubber just for vibration protection? Thanks for any help Kevin

Some had starter generator systems using the generator as the starter motor. IIRC the regulator for these is way different than a 3 terminal system. Jim
