Cub fender brackets

The more I look at these, the more I don't think it's factory, too big and square. I'll be darned if I can find any pictures of this area on cubs. Does anyone else's look like this? I want to get fenders cause they are rotted out behind both brackets. One picture I did manage to find didn't have any bracket. What is it supposed to look like? Thanks.

either of my cubs have any brackets except for the smaller sloped one on the right side

I HAVE WORKED ON IH TRACTORS FOR 50 YR HAD USED PARTS BUSSNES. NEVER SEEN BRACKETS LIKE THAT . THEY DO LOOK LIKE ORG.TOOK MANY CUBS APART FOR PARTS.

I have worked on my own and other peoples cubs for 35+ years, plus going to several tractor shows, plus a yearly one called Cub-Arama. Guess what that one was about. LOL. Never saw anything like that on a cub. I think the statement about it being rotted out behind the the brackets says why the bracket is there.

Yeah, that's why I asked. I figured I could eliminate them to prevent it from happening again. That and finally get the dern thing out of the weather. I can't see
a real purpose for it.

Yup, no brackets on a Farmall. All reinforcements are integral to the fender, and they bolt directly to the final drive and platform.

It is very common for the crud to build up around where the fenders bolt to the final drive, causing them to rot out.
