Cub hydraulic pump

Is it common for the pump on Cub to squeal. I think not. Sounds a little like a common vacuum leak on carburetors.
Fluid is full. Does work but squeals.

Is the oil in the touch control foamy? Maybe pulling in a little air around an O ring? They do whine a little. Not too hard to disassemble and inspect.

Could the squeal be the system going over relief ? Try installing a gage on the touch-control and see what it is doing. I don't have any Cub specs, but it shouldn't be more than a few pounds to just circulate, but if it's around 1500 psi you got a problem.

I'll have to try to find a pressure gauge and fittings for this. I have original owners manual, and don't see any pressure readings either.

Seems that I found the squeal. And I was right all along, the carb gasket, cork, had a break in it and was leaking air, same as a vacuum leak, but larger. Made a couple of temporary gaskets, just to see if that was the only problem and all works well. I guess I just missed it.
