cub snap ring

What lock ring does it take for the differential shaft on a Cub tractor? The part number is 350 802 R1, the slot with the bearing on the shaft is to narrow for any snap
ring I have to fit. Is it a spiral type or outside snap type?? Thanks for any help

Are you sure you have the right bearing and it is driven on as far as it needs to be? Snap ring is number 4 in the attached diagram. Cannot imagine a part being listed that does not fit the position it is shown for. Never had a Cub apart, maybe Grandpa Love will drop in a give an assessment of your problem.

I am on the left side, bearing has a snap ring on it to keep it from going in to far, the snap ring I am looking for is also number 4 on parts breakdown. The snap ring I have is to thick and will not stay on the groove. When it comes off shaft goes into case. Not been the best thing I have had happen. My question is what is the thickness suppose to be, do I have the wrong snap ring?? I just got one out of a ring set that was for a 1 inch shaft and it would appear it is to thick for the groove with the bearing installed on shaft.

I think that the best thing you could do at this point is measure the with of the ring slot and diameter with a digital/dial caliper and look for the specific ring you need by dimension. The kits typically have common dimensions and you may not find what you need in a kit.
