I had a 1960 cub cadet 100 with a 10 hp kohler.I bought my cub cadet 1 year ago and am now realizing that it comes with a 10 hp engine but the engine in my cub cadet is a 12 hp engine and i was wondering if this is rare

The engine is yellow the serial number isEven if it came from the factory with the 12hp, no hard core CC collector would believe it.
How do you know it is a 107? The dash fiberglass may have been swapped from a 107 onto a 12hp CC.
Is the engine the same yellow as the tractor w/o an obvious repaint job?
If I remember correctly, all of the engine sheet metal from a 12hp will fit onto a 10hp. So it could be possible to still have a 10 with 12 sheetmetal and data plate.
If the engine is satin black, it is a replacement engine from kohler. Versus a donor engine from another CC.

I checked TractorData and that serial number for the tractor would put it as a late 1970 model. I'm still digging on the engine number. The engine is yellow the serial number is

If it was originally a 12 HP, it would be a 127. Probably saw an engine swap, hood swap or a re-decalling with the wrong set at some point in history.I bought my cub cadet 1 year ago and am now realizing that it comes with a 10 hp engine but the engine in my cub cadet is a 12 hp engine and i was wondering if this is rare

Thank you guys for the helpActually TD is off.
Below is more accurate.
Looks like made April of 1970
Post what the entire tag says "2050038U340545" ??
If 0038 is there, the tag is for a 107. That tag #, the model # decal on the dash and engine are the only differences between a 107 and a 127 (10hp or 12hp). The hoods alone are identical including the decal.
