Cultivator for 8N

Does anybody have a picture of a cultivator that mounted
behind the front wheels of a 8 N or what model it was a
maybe could find it in a parts book thinking about building one
and like to have something to go by
Thanks

If you go to the little ntractorc1ub website and look in the manuals section you will likely find scans of original manuals. Get some ideas from there.

Front Cultivators were mounted on the axle, not the wheels. They were more popular on the 541 Offset and worked better as they had a bit more HP than the N. The Dearborn Model 13-4 was for the 8N and Dogman is correct, you can get the OEM Dearborn Assembly & Operating Owner's Manual and the Master Parts Catalog and parts list over on the other N Tractor site. It has plenty of pictures but you find any detail blueprint drawings of parts and dimensions. Always like innovative D-I-Y fellas but be careful what you wish for. Oh, you might get lucky and find an original somewhere in a boneyard (try George Bradish; Swebros Bros; Sam Adams; Wenger's; et al)but seems that trying to make one yourself might prove to be futile. I think you'd have better luck finding a 541 that already has the front and rear cultivator on it. Good luck and let us now what you come up with.

Sears had then in their Farm Catalog. Other companys made them as well. Several years ago at a consignment there was one of non Ford built that I wanted to put on either my 9N or 2N. thought it would go cheap because no one would know what it was, wrong. Went way above my budgit.

When I did not get that one I was going to make my own, never got around to it. Actually very simple to make. It used the rear cultivators fot toe close together rear shovels and only had 1 shovel for each side of the row in the front section. It did not have the lift parts but extra JD cultivator parts I had would have been perfect for that. Itook pictures but have no idea now where they are. Front shovel section just pivitoed on a bar in bracket that bolted to front axle.
