Cummins 250 injection pump gasket

Does the N14 and the older 855 cummins like the 250 use the same injection pump gasket? Local cummins shop cant look up the 250 because it is too old? I ordered the gasket for a NTA855 which looks like the same gasket with one extra hole. Can i just put gasket material over the gasket and call it good?
This is the picture of the gasket i ordered, but like i said, mine only has the four corner holes. Engine in a 800 versatile. Thanks for any information.

I call BS on this, next time take the CPL number off the tag on your engine. If they tell you they can’t look it up then there is a problem with that parts department. That gasket will work, a wee bit of RTV at the location of the extra hole wouldn’t hurt.

Yes, it is bs. Went in there this morning, "can't look it up without engine numbers off the tag" ok, go home call back in with engine numbers, "oh they say its an ag application, we can't look that up". Really frustrating, 855 pretty common engine, and a lot of them made for a lot of years. Why does it matter if it is in a truck or tractor. Thanks for the reply.

Did you go to Cummins or a authorized Cummins repair shop
The NH 250 up to the Big Cam 4 all used the Cummins PT injection pump
Military 5ton trucks used the 250 engine up to the mid 80’s when they switched to the 8.3 Cummins, the 84 model I had used the NH250
Not sure what the extra hole is for but it’s a non issue, when I replaced the accessory drive on my Big Cam 400 in the early 2000’s the gasket had that extra hole

I know all of your frustrations, I have a customer here at work that has 2 855's in JD tractor that were an experimental deal, yes Deere dealer, they have no records on those machines, mother Deere wiped the engine data tags off them, I have a fella close by that has been in the business for decades and he knows those critters better than most anyone I've ever met, I call him for parts for those two machines for sure, he's been at it close to 40 years and his dad did before him! 2 stroke detroits and them older 855's hes the go to guy, the company name is engine rebuilders in Des Moines IA, he's a bit gruff and rough but knows his crap, his name is Dan.
