Cut out and polarization

Hey Forum Chums
To set this up....non running 2n......new battery....new wiring harness.....all grounds and connections sparkling....cut off relay removed and all connection points wire wheeled to a mirror shine......when I go to polarize the Generator at the cut out.....I barely get a spark....barely noticeable.....not like on my 41...that one sparks like a Lincoln Welder...any thoughts....something seems to be amiss with the strength of the spark arc in the polarization process!

emove belt from gen & see if it 'motors' during polarization..........if not may be gen problem & related to small spark. Bad brushes?
