There was an online auction today and a Dearborn cultivator went for 320.00. There were 4 row models with rolling shields that stayed under 200.00. Couldn't a crafty guy make a couple 2 row rigs out of a more modern larger unit and end up with a better implement for less, or after selling one, no money?

Yep, you could do that.Another plus, lots of spare parts.and, youwould be one step closer to updateing/upsizeing Go for it!

My uncle went the other way back in the 60s. He had the first 8 row planter around here. He went to Archbold and bought several Ford 2 row cultivators and made an 8 row folding outfit.

I am glad to hear you all think it's a good idea because I bought a John Deere 4 row with the rolling shields good shovels and good rubber on the rollers for a little over 200 dollars. I guess I'll have to paint it red or rusty to match my old Ford. I'll leave the one I sell green though.
