cutout replacement for 3 brush

I made a diode setup as per soundguy. Worked great, THANKS!!!

But, Funprojects has a combination cutout/regulator. You Set 3rd brush for a bit more than charging needs (i.e. LIGHTS, 1 amp). Then it takes care of battery.

If I only run my 9N on field work, I use the Diode/cutout.

But if I'm running lights and/or sporadically running, the fun projects replacement can't be beat!!

P.S. Show guys, they have OEM cutout appearance , W/Ford logo

the guy that hawks those has been on here before with dubius explanations of how they work. I know I have put the question to him directly on what method of regulation it uses.. IE.. series pass.. or whatever.. and he dances around the science. Methinks he either doesn't know.. or is hiding something...

there are plenty of ways to do it mind you... just the answers he gave were kinda odd...

Well, If he"s selling the things, My guess is that is does not want to say too much has to have you go out, get the parts and make your own... Bad for business. Just a guess, hunch, shot in the dark.... And it could be he"s like his answers... "kinda odd"
But what do I know....

My guess is he had someone else design them for him.. told him kinda how they work.. and he sells them... OR.. he made them.. and he is kind off inthe personality department :)

wouldn't matter if he told what method of regulation it is.. we didn't ask for specifics.. just general info.. IE.. what "style" of regulator it was.

They work fine, give you full charge until battery is happy.

Not sure about if genny runs more mean time when charge is full?

Will turn field brush back when I'm not running lights anyway (wacking 40 arcres of hay).......

I've no doubt they work.. and due to the way most reg circuits work.. if the amp is charging less there is less heat, and mechanical load.. etc.

there are plenty of ways to do it..
