I have 2 spreaders by Cyclone. One has the flax shaft & the other an electric motor, which doesn"t work. Its odd that the motor driven spreader has a control box with a light bulb in it. The switch is like what you would find in a early 80"s pick up. You can turn the switch & dim the light & push/pull to varible speed the motor. can anyone give me any information about the motor & how I can get one to replace mine?

I have one, and it works well after a small shove to get it started. Rotate the control resistor a few times, and use a bit of emery paper to clean it some. Also, use some under the wiper arm if it will fit. And, last, but not least, remove the ground and sand it down some, then restore and retighten the ground wire. Godd luck- mine has been good for 25 years or more....

It is just a 12 volt heater fan motor. I have replaced many of them over the years. If you have a good old style auto parts store they can look it up by mounting and shaft size to get the motor you need.

Also Granger has them too. They are just under 12 volt motors.
