D 14 Power director

When power director lever is all the way forward, tractor shift is in neutral and engine idling a rattle is coming from the power director clutch area. Clutch has been removed and gone thru and adjusted but it still rattles. Rattle goes away when you pull back on lever slightly. Wonder if clutch collar or shift fork could be the cause?

I don't know when it started, or if the D14 had this, but- There is a bracket with a bolt adjustable with washers to hold the weight of the lever just back off of the internal parts.

When the engine speed is under probably 700-800 RPM, you can potentially hear the intermediate gears rattle inside. The hotter the oil, the worse it can be. Placing the hand clutch lever in NEUTRAL usually makes the noise go away. Speeding the engine up does too. Sounds quite normal to me. You have checked the oil level, right ???
