Would this be an early D? The gear shift looks like it is from a C.

If it is a very early D, it could have a C transmission in it. Have seen one like that near here.

Banjo steering wheel and chrome strips on the hood should make it 42-43. Just a guess. Serial number is on the edge of the block flange behind the air cleaner, left side of the engine.

It's not a 1939 as the throttle lever is not on the steering column and the clutch lever is on the left side so it can't be a three speed.

This is one I found on the net and thought it looked interesting. It has the clutch lever on the left like my DC but a gear shift like a C. It also has the old type turning brakes like a C but no hand brake like the C's had. Were the heavy wheel centers common to the D's? This is not my tractor and to far from me to purchase, I just noticed some odd things about it and thought I would ask the experts here.

Just a thought on this " D " ?. Suppose it was a D I when it was new? There is a possibilty that it has a 4 speed in it, even tho it has a " C '" style gear shift. That combination can be made and it will work. BTDT. The rear wheel centers look very heavy for an ag tractor and the seat has that " industral" look to it. I hope we see more of this tractor and learn some of its history. clint.
