d14 power director clutch

ok- nearly finished with the mechanical end of this resto . Just finished replacing some tranny gears, and replacing all seals.
before sliding this back in the the torque tube and attaching axles, i'm trying to decide if it's even worth taking the power director
clutch apart for inspection. This tractor was a field find, no history on how well it ran or when it ran. Taking the clutch apart does not look like a
huge task, but, the replacement wear parts, or should i say those that are available parts, are super expensive. For those that have ventured in to
a tear down and inspection, how well did these clutches hold up? Maybe better just to take new measurements on the shim spacing, reinstall and get on to
putting the rebuilt pieces scattered all over the floor back on the tractor. Any one experienced with these ? thanks!

My rule of thumb is if it looks okay don' mess with it? if parts are falling out and disk look real thin maybe it should be repaired or replaced. I went thru my WD transmission and replaced some gear and the whole rear end and got by pretty cheap with E-Bay parts. Did not get into Hand clutch or final drives because they were Okay!!

yeah, i decided that the time it takes to split cases/pull covers , etc. and from the massive amount of oil all over the tractor, it was best to start in front and finish in the rear. i had to replace 2nd, 3rd, and 4th. gears on the pinion shaft, and every seal, o-ring, and gasket on the tractor. As a footnote, AGCO does not carry clutch disks any longer, but oddly minpar does. (they ship great btw). i am down to re-shimming the power director clutch, and then start the reassembly process . hope i get time to paint it. boy pics of the old tractors in their original colors are cool lookin. after this is done, think i'm going to move on and try to aquire a d17 4 series and start the process all over again,,,,,,,,
