D17 decals

My D17 decals look different than any I have seen. It is a 1958 model that has been repainted. The "D17" is an oval sticker and the "Allis Chalmers" is white lettering instead of the black lettering on a white background. Were the 1958 decals different or did someone put some odd ball stickers on after they painted it?

Different decals were used, however I don't think those are accurate to a 58 model. I believe it should have a small rectangular D17 decal and it and the Allis Chalmers decals should both be white with black letters. The decals you described sound like the type used in 57.

Yes, the oval decal is correct on a 58. The small square D17 decal sowhed up on the 60 model year.

I have to disagree. 58 models had the black bar grill, right? All of those I have seen have the suare decal.

OK, I checked the AC data book. I was wrong. According to the book it depends on the SN. If yours is prior to #24001 then you have the correct decals. Sorry about that, should've known better to go by others I've seen. Too many out there incorrectly restored.

Thank you both for your informaiton. Looks like I do have the right decals looking at the serial number.
