d17 running bad

i am having trouble with it running while its under a load changed all electical parts and that seemed to help it but it started acting up again to day it cuts out real bad but when you choke it it kinda smooths out but its not right maybe carb? dont know thanks

Maybe you changed already, but my 17 did the same thing and it was the fuel filter.

If it runs better by choking it, it is a fuel issue, not electrical. Tank, filter, line, carb.

When I had that problem on my D-17 it turned out to be a loose coil wire that goes to the ignition switch. Did you do any work with that panel?
