D17 Series1 three point

Hello,
I have a series 1 with the three point conversion that bolts under the seat and goes down from there for the top link pin. I am wondering if that type of hitch is strong enough to run a post hole auger, or do you think it would break those two small bolts that used to hold the pto cover? Also, would that hitch be strong enough to use with 5 foot brush hog. or should I forget it? Anyone else used a D17 Series 1 with the converted traction booster type 3 point for these purposes? Advice? Thanks in advance. Rifman

Pretty hard to say. If you operate cautiously, thinking you might break something, you might not ever have an issue. But if you treat it without any care, I'm sure something could happen. Probably at a minimum, I'd swap out those 3/8" bolts/studs to grade 8 bolts and hard flat washers and make sure the bolts are long enough to use the full depth of the threaded holes, even if that means stacking flat washers to achieve that.
