I removed the hydraulic pump cover to change draft control seal and this tube was laying in bottom of cover. I can see a fitting on pump but any see anywhere for the other end to go. Anybody know what this is and were it connects to, any help is appreciated. D17 series 2

Parts book calls that a "tube, lubrication belt pulley". Must go up and pump oil on the bevel gears for the belt pulley if you've got one.

It goes up and points forward towards the belt pulley compartment. There is a hole thru the casting wall. The nut wasn't tight enough or the rubber sleeve that squeezes against the lube tube is deteriorated. You think they'd last longer than 60+ years, wouldn't ya ??

Yea seems like it would be a life time deal, lol. Thanks for the info, I may just take the belt pulley off I have never used it. Thanks again

The tube must be in there, belt pulley or not. That lube tube is what oils the front clutch shaft bearing first, and then belt pulley gears if it has one.
