D17 with loader

Hello Bluetick, welcome to YT! Are you connecting your loader with a tee to hose suppling the 3 point which could be a modified snap coupler system? Do you intend to have an implement on the hitch and use it at the same time as the loader? If the two are tee’d together if you put an implement on the 3 point and pressure to line to lift the loader it may raise the loader to the top of its stroke before the 3 point will raise. In other words a system set up like this will not allow you to use both the loader and the 3 point at the same time. But in short, if you get what you have on the 3 point raised and if the seals in the cylinder for the 3 point are leak free a closed valve in the line to the 3 point will hold the 3 point in position.

Along the line of what used red MN posted. If you want to have them so you can work them separately you need a diverter valve in place of the tee to send the oil to/from one or the other. Send oil to the three point and lift it. Hold the three point and turn the diverter valve to send oil to the loader so you can use the loader. The 3-point will stay where it was lifted to, provided there is no leakage, when the valve is turned to supply the loader. Likewise, you could lift the loader to a given height and turn the diverter valve to supply the oil to the 3-point cylinders. You could also use two valves, one on each side of the tee to control the loader and 3-point separately. Valves and fittings should be rated for more than 3000 psi because of the pressure in the D17 hydraulic system. Also, you need to check oil level in the hydraulic reservoir since holding one or the other elevated lowers the working oil level in the reservoir.

Thanks guys used red mn im trying to hold three pont ip with blade or bush hog on back and switch valve to loader but when i take pressue off three point to loader blade drops ive been told chain up 3 point

Full disclosure helps to give you correct info. Post a sketch and pictures, of your tractor's hydraulic plumbing and how you tied the loader in. At this point I am guessing you have just the hydraulic control levers under the steering wheel, no other valves. You originally posted "just one inlet hose", now you are posting about switching a valve to loader. From my D14s saying just one inlet hose says to me the loader has been "teed" (or coupled) into the remote cylinder outlet which is in the line that goes to the "3-point" system. Some had different set ups with other valves, we need to know just what your tractor has. Is the loader working from the same valve as the "3-point" or does it have a separate valve?
