Danaged piston

Finally got into the Kubota 1100 ATV. Piston number 1 and 3 good shape and also the bore. Number two had the rings stuck in the front and back of the piston and damage to the bore. This damage was inline with the crank. Anyone have an opinion about what could cause this damage. The engine had been hot a couple of times. Was able to hone the bore so the scratch could not be felt.

Yup, #2 would have gotten the hottest because it's in the middle, hence why it has stuck rings and not the other two.
