Bought ford 3000, 2 days ago. Thought was 1967 model but was told last made in 1965. Serial number is 0827088, model # 01018c. Would it be a 1965 model or before.
Thanks, Tom

Either you have the wrong numbers or you don't have a 3000. The Ford 3000 was made between 1965 and 1975. The serial numbers all start with the letter C. The model numbers for a 3000 start with either the letter C or the number 3. Neither your model number nor your serial number seem to exist as being for any Ford 3000 of any year.

See the link below for how to identify your tractor, if it is a 1965 to 1975 model:
Ford tractor identification

Hi Tom;

If C327038 is the serial number, it is a 1971 tractor. The C indicates is was made in the US. There should be another number, the model number, located on the tag. It would appear as "C1023C". C = 3000; 10= ag model, all purpose; 2= gas; 3= live 540 PTO and C= 8 speed trans. Once you find the ID plate get the model # and go to the site mention in the other post. Hope this helps.

They do not. There are certainly 'B' prefix 3000's out there (Basildon, England), and probably 'A' prefix ones (Antwerp, Belguim)as well.

I am having a reaaly hard time find the serial,model, and produciton code on a 4000. Can anyone offer suggestion, this number i have found do not make sense to me CONN 6015J
NCA 50 2m21

Hello Daisy;

The CONN6015J indicates the block used. In your case it is a 172 CI engine that was used from 1960 to 1964 and that it is a four cylinder engine. The location of the model and serial numbers will be located on the left side of the engine(as you sit in the seat) and on the flat of the bellhousing to the rear of the starter.
Check out the link below for more info and photos of where to look for the serial number.

The other number you gave appears to be a casting code that tells when the part was made. Someone else, like ahwtx or John in La and help you with that. It might be necessary to start a new thread asking for this info.

For info on the newer 4000's check out;
