Date Indicators

I'm looking at a 8n that has had a 2n motor put in it. What indicators can i look for to try and determine its approximate date of manufacture? Has a proofmeter. Thanks for any help. Jason

Engine will have a serial number that will tell you when it was built. Tractor will have casting codes and there will likely be a date on the bottom plate of the hydraulic pump, which will tell you the approximate date of the tractor.

check the axle codes.. trumpets rarely get seperated from the chassis
