David Brown 880 smoking

I have a 1949 David Brown 880 selectamatic that I use to clean a free stall barn. A couple weeks ago it started absolutely billowing white smoke. My first thought was immediately the head gasket, so I changed that along with the fuel injectors.
Fired it back up and it's still smoking.
I know there were numerous engine models for the 880, and depending on the engine certain things have to be adjusted slightly differently. My question to everyone out there is this. The head gasket did look a little bit off (I couldn't put my finger what was different, and all the holes lined up so I thought maybe I was just tired. Are the head gaskets the same across the board, or are they slightly different depending on the engine model and serial number?

head gaskets are the same for all 3/55 engines.

Is it losing coolant or oil?

White smoke is pretty common an all DBs as start up, but most clear up when they warm up. Does your thermostat work?

Thermostat works fine, and it has always smoked when cold as you said, but usually clears in a couple minutes. Its used oil for as long as I can remember, but doesn't leak either coolant or oil.

When I parked it the first time it filled my 15x30 garage so thick that I couldn't see the muffler, and that was just in the time it took me to pull it in and square it up.

After changing gaskets and injectors it wasn't as bad, but still smoked me out in a minute or so.

I was wondering if maybe rings, seals, or possibly both could contribute to that?
It still feels like it has solid compression, but it was a thought that crossed my mind.
