David Brown 990, two-stage clutch?

An acquaintance bought a very used 990. On the surface, it does not appear to have a two-stage clutch. While doing a walk-around with the new owner he asked if the 990's had a two-stage clutch. Told him I thought it should have one, but by feel of the clutch pedal it does not appear to??

After reading just about every online tractor spec web site with info on the 990 . . . not a single one mentions anything about the clutch other than it is a "dry disk". Playing the wording game searching for a blog or YouTube I found The Man From The Mist YouTube video where the parts for a 990 clutch replacement are laid out prior to installation. Two disks and an intermediate plate - a two stage. So it was available with two-stage but I still don't know if they were so equipped.

A 990 parts books I found online shows a "clutch pit cover" under the clutch area. If it is there. open it and look inside is the best way to tell.

I will pass that info along to the owner. I looked for the serial number when asked he what clutch it should have - but it was under about an inch of forty year old oily muck that I wasn't about to carve on with my pocket knife.
