DC at the scrap yard

I was driving past the local scrap yard and spotted this, I believe it is a 1941 DC in reasonably complete shape, my guess is the wide front is a later addition as it has the curved steering arm but don't really know. The chrome on the hood is in nice shape as is with chrome on the headlight bezels, there is a "square" hoop mounted on the headlight arms that looks like a factory heat houser bracket.

Don't know what you guys think but I believe that is a rear from a later year, the brakes are the newer style as the old DCS had a band style brake with a hand brake and the clutch on my 39 is on the RH side and originally pulled back before being changed. Case parts site has pics of the band brake but did not see a parts breakdown of the disc brakes and serial number they were used, definitely the engine and hood with the chrome strips date those parts correctly but the curved steering arm is much later I believe, what think you guys? I always thought that the 39-41 series were very similar but could stand corrected on that.

I agree it may be a collection of parts, the clutch lever is on the right, I hadn't thought about the brakes, I don't know when they changed to bar axles, maybe the brakes changed at the same time, I don't really know. I believe the head has angle plugs, I don't know when they changed from the CC type head, if I get some time I'll get a closer look.

Mike, I do not know what that right lever is but the other pic shows the LH standard lever like my old 48, there is an extra lever but I do not know its function, the brake housings themselves are the style used for many years between the early bands and th late DC double discs, Bar avles are indeed another consideration, my 39 has the 5 bolt flange with spool extensions originally before I went pressed steel.

The clutch lever on the right looks like an add on. I'm thinking that a past owner might have been missing a left arm. The pully brake is missing too. As far as the head goes, it could have been switched at some time.

I think we are both right,After looking at a couple of other pictures I took it looks like someone rigged up a second clutch lever. After looking at my copy of Full Steam Ahead it says the disk brakes are correct. I want to go back for a better look, this is interesting. It is located about five miles south of Melbourne.. I think this would be be a labor of love to restore but has many good parts.
