dc foot clutch pto

good evening everyone
I am trying to take a short cut in finding out some info. I have a 53 dc foot clutch live eagle hitch and want to know if the pto adjusting procedure is the same as the hand clutch tractors . I think mine is stuck in the engaged position as there is no snape in the engaged position and spins all the time making it hard to start tractor with snowblower on it. thanks for any help on this so i can hit the snow tomorrow
Thanks,
Bob

There should be a cover on top of the housing right above the pto, take that off and you can see everything well. To adjust you pull the pin and rotate the pressure plate. I can't remember which way that one turns. Sounds like something else tho. I've had those chain link connectors fall out before and cause that.

Thanks John
I opened it up today and think on off the pins were hung up because once I adjusted it one notch to the right no problem and she snaps into gear. I wonder if the springs between the brass and steel disks are weak or broken.as when I turn it some times turns harder and if I engage and disengage it and turn the pto she loosens up ,so I know it is something in the clutch or a bent stub shaft
Thanks for the speedy reply Bob
