Hi Guys I got the DC propane running for the first time in 2 years.
I have owned it for 10 years and it has a strange serial number that has a matching block stamp but doesn?t match Rock Island or Racine numbers. Does anyone have any knowledge of it.

Don't think DCs were sold with propane till 52. Look at the block flange and trans. housing by the air cleaner assembly for a complete number. Case sold kits to change gas tractors to propane so it could have been switched at some point.

I can't help you with the serial number mystery, but I am curious as to what time frame your tractor comes from. Does it have Eagle Hitch, right side brake pedals, foot clutch, etc.? Factory LP was first offered in the summer of 1951. Don

Don, I think I will send in for the build card on mine, I was told years ago Case made them like mine for a time until the live power part that was on back order came through,, be interesting to know what month mine was built, I bought mine for the original owner think he was 82 at the time

Hi Don my tractor does have right brake pedal but has a hand clutch.
All factory original including the ensign regulator.Just wish there was a way to get this figured out.
How could I even get a build tag with that serial number.

Tom,

I think that's a great idea. I wonder what a buyer of a non live power tractor thought when a LPTO model came out a few months later. Don

I would have to think they was not super happy but I would also say the live power ones came at a added cost,, in those days to some the extra dollars would have been a waste so to speak, the one I have the man never used the EH at all as he had no EH implements to use,, he had a one-way and a mounted planter for it, the one-way was not a Case but the planter was,, I would have taken it as well but had no way to load it where this Dc was at but I did get the older DC he had also bought new,, I will see about the serial info and snap more pics of it to post here,, it has some interesting parts on it, these came from the Dalhart Texas area

Just came across a 52 DC propane and would love to see how that Ensign is supposed to be plumbed. Tractor is not running, but is loose. I?d like to try and get it going...thanks.
