DC rear wheels

How difficult is it to slide the rear wheel hub on the axle shaft? Loosening the bolts that clamp to axle is easy enough but the square keyway on axle shaft makes me think its rusted in tight. The tractor has been stored inside most all of its life. Do I need a home built puller?

if it runs jack up that wheel with the clamp loosened,, make SURE its on the blocking or jack Well,, 4th gear get the wheel spinning and tap the brake repeatably and the wheel will come loose from the axle, easy way to do it,, works 100% of the time for me,,

Easier to jack it up, turn the key to the top, let the jack down so the axle and key come loose from the wheel. Oil well between, turn the wheel 1/2 turn, oil under the clamp, turn 1/4 turn and rock the wheel the direction you want to move it. Oil the bolts up well and tighten.

done that too but I have had them that did not work,, the way I said always works for me,, but what ever works,, I have not done that many DC's but have done lots of VA series, 30,70 and 90 series,, but no on the taper locks I ONLY use a torque wrench to remove those,, I guess I should have not even gave a answer on these sorry

My Dad used to loosen the wheel and drive around (a circle ?), seemed to move the wheel for him ???

All good ideas but this is a non running tractor. I need to get wheels moved around so I can load it on trailer I have. Sounds like the key will move as long as I loosen clamp enough,shine up axle and oil everything well.
