I am wondering where is the timing inspection window for the flywheel? It has the Case magneto. I took the magneto off to file the points and tried keeping it the same but I ended up having to move the spark plug wires one hole cw so it's incorrect. (Not sure if I bought it wrong or if I did it or if it happened in the rotor gear or main drive) I believe one spark plug hole would equal a half turn on the main drive. Also the timing advance ° procedure would be helpful. It seems to run kind of advanced but hard to say. I try turning the whole mag cw but it don't make much difference since it's such little adjustment allowed. Also the tractor is missing serial plate and the stamped number at rear of engine block is D and 7 digit. (444xxxxx) so I'm guessing it has a replacement D engine?

3/8 pipe plug below the starter is timing inspection hole...owner's manual gives the instructions for setting timing.

I found it and removed it, however I can't find the hole in the flywheel. When the magneto snaps for #1 , I checked with a pick and nothing, also its submerged in oil

I did find it. I was thinking it was a hole but I had to push a paper towel in to wipe oil off to see the stamp. Also realized a guy on you tube is correct that pushing the mag in retards the timing and pulling it out advances it. It's confusing because at first I thought it was the opposite since rotating it clockwise retards the distributer but the timing must be in the points and I learned technically turning the distributer on this mag doesn't affect timing since it will just jump to post. On a farmall h with a distributer it is opposite even though the rotar rotates the same way (clockwise) but turning it down retards it and lifting it advances it.
