Dearborn 10-80 disc plow

Anyone have any information on them? I ended up finding a few on the property. The tail wheel seems to have a little play and other than that everything still spins and moves.

I had a 10-80 for a couple of years and
used it a few times behind my 3000.
I did not like it.
They are supposed to be great for rocky,
rooty soil as the discs will ride up and
over an obstacle and not get hung up like
a moldboard plow will.
Mine just did not penetrate the soil very
deep and just turned over the top
couple/few inches. Did not turn sod under
well either. Field was lumpy and poorly
done.
Maybe if you added a couple hundred more
pounds on it it could work better. The
big, squarish original weight is just not
heavy enough.
Lastly, the original Dearborn manual for
the plow says to shorten your top link to
the shortest setting. I did that and when
I raised it up it mashed the rear of my
left fender. Grrr! Other brands of disc
plows might work better but that 10-80
was poorly designed in my opinion. I sold
it and went back to a moldboard plow.
Yes I had it set up properly.
I have gottten my Ford 101 plow hung up
on rocks and roots a few times and
tripped a bottom a few times. But it
plows deeper, better and doesn't leave my
garden and deer plots looking like a
moron plowed it.
Two thumbs down here for the 10-80.
