Dearborn 14-15 sickle mower

I just dragged an old one of these out of the woods and I was thinking of mounting it on my 8n. I have the top link bracket and the bracket under the axle but I am missing the 3pt arm extensions.Can I still run it without them or does anyone know of a source where I could get a pair? The arm that extends under the right side axle housing has a piece on it that has two tangs on it and looks like it can be turned, anyone know what this is for? I was thinking of using the sickle to do the ditch line around my property, Can it be angled down to reach into a ditch or does it have to be used flat? Thanks Bob

The round thing sticking out the side on which a wrench handle can be used to turn it is the "Break away latch" if you hit a tree. The 1 1/2 rod has a "notch" itit that is inside. A spring inside pushes against the latch (like a door latch, but angled both sides.)The adjust presure on the spring, determines how much force is needed to "breakaway". Since the mower has been outside for a number of years, I expect the the 1 1/2" rod is rusty and the latch is frooze shut. I recommend you take it all apart, sandpaper the rod and make sure the release is working free. If you don't, something is going to break, the minute you hit an obstuction and/or your tractor is going to make a fast "wheelie to the right.
The arm extensions are 7 3/4 " long and look exactly like the short regular connectors These are necessary to get the skid shoe and sickle bar down to the ground and to lift all about 1 1/2 feet. You can make your own.
The mower will drop down below horzintal some to get in a ditch edge some.
