Dearborn 14-3 Mower

Hey guys and girls, I have a Dearborn sidemount mower (14-3) on my 2N. Doing some routine maintenance, I see that the pitman box (with the bearings) is getting kinda shot after God knows how many years of servive. Anyone know where to get a replacement? New or good used? Refurbished the mower a few years ago, and use it for clipping pasture. Would like to keep using it. Thanks in advance.... Darryl

Is it a bearing or bushing?
Either way, most of that stuff was "off the shelf" hardware so most any bearing house would be able to match them for you.

Not a bearing or bushing. I know I can get those. It's the housing itself. Someone, before me, put shim stock between the bearing race and the housing to take up some slop. There's a good 1/16 or more space around the race. Not good! Been living with it, but vwould like to fix it, since everything else is up to par. I know it's ancient, but it works for me. Sidemount mower works for me . No mounting or dismounting. Just hop on the tractor and go....

All I have to go on is the parts manual but it looks like you could take it to someone that can bore and sleeve it. It holds two taper roller bearings so how in the heck did it get that beat out to begin with?

No idea how it got that worn out. But it is over 60 years old. Alot of this old stuff is used and abused. Like, no grease, no oil etc. Then you have some barnyard engineering by someone to
make things go a little longer. Then i end up buying this old stuff at auction, and discovering later how worn out this stuff is. LOL Then i look for parts.... Lots of fun!!
