i have one for sale. are they worth much?

Depends. Whre are you? What model do you have? How complete? Cheeck Ebay/Craigslist for your area?

I bought one from a jockey almost 30 years ago with the pump and valve complete for $100. Put it on an used it. Can't imagine they'd be worth much more today. With steel at $200 a ton,don't think they'd even bring much more than 100 for scrap.

Front pump is the key. It is expensive to replace, like $300-500 for the pump only. If yours has a good front pump and you can demonstrate that, you might get decent money, as much as $400-500 for the loader. A loader off the tractor, not in use, isn't worth much. That's kinda like buying a tractor that supposedly is in good shape but won't run. If the buyer can't see what he's getting, he isn't going to pay much. If yours does not have a front pump, a good front pump, the price you mentioned is probably your top price.
